Its been a full week since WC2 went off!! Can you say drama?? We definately had our share regarding our title event but I am happy to say Eric Rivera is the ISKA Heavy Weight Title holder and Chris DeCaro is 4-1-1…. The REMATCH is on for Dec 8- Warriors Collide 3- “The Payback”….
Pictures, pictures… where, when, how can I get them… They are being loaded on to DK Photo’s web site as I write. WWW.DKPHOTO1.SMUGMUG.COM you will not be able to miss it. Actually Dave (master of photo’s) gets so many shots from our events they end up in 2 albums. He snapped over 4 thousand shots of our event!!! We will be having a write up in Fight Zone Magazine, so I will let you all know when and where of it.
Frank Pacella squared off against David Okenka, a match we tried to run with in April, and the decision went to Okenka. Both guys put on a great show and would be willing to meet again in the future. Close calls seem to leave a fighter with a desire for rematch and take the decision away from the judges. { Hammer Gym and Inferno respectfully}
Jonathan Israel jumped in at the last moment for a rematch with Anthony Longsworth. Anthony once again pulled the win but Jonathan is a warrior giving it all he’s got and major kudo’s to him for taking the fight last minute. Even the best laid plans go aray. {Brent Carraway and American TKA respectfully}
Moving his record up to 4-0 FFA’s Chevenne Moreno defeated Devon Holland, of Xtreme Marshall Arts. We will likely see Che coming up for a chance at the ISKA Welterweight or Superwelterweight title. He’s a charismatic fighter with tons of talent. Devon was a great opponent (check the pictures!) and these two made the cover of the EastSider newspaper. I do recall Devon saying he’s up for any challenge we can bring him, and we’d love to have him back!
In the heavy weight division, Alan “the Beast” Yvones of Bears Den took on Round 2 kickboxing’s Valentine Kreisz. That is my own nick name for Alan, he is just a huge man with explosive punches. I did not get to see the entire fight, but I do know that Alan claimed the victory. Valentine walks away with a record of 5-1 and Alan moves up to 2-1. Watch out Eric, this heavy weight will be looking for a chance at the belt in no time.
Our Grappling match between ATT’s Daniel Hortegas and Canino’s boxing & karate’s Boomer (Brian Goldman), ended in a heel lock put on by Daniel. I will just claim here that it is notes I have been handed- I can get a better picture of the match up when I see the video. Boomer is an all around great guy- he boxes, kickboxes and grapples. This is someone who compete’s for the love of the sport and he’s always a pleasure to work with. A special thanks goes out to Bonnie Canino: we heard how much you worked with Larry and just wanted to acknowledge you- it is appreciated!! Let us know when we can return the favor!
Hammer Gym saw the debut of two new fighters, Jesse “The Hater” Pacella and Vlad Levenfeld. Jesse went up against Ishmael Sanchez of Round 2 Kickboxing. “The Hater”came out feeling the first time nerves, as did Ishmael but the two soon turned up the heat. There can be only one winner and that night it was The Hater. Vlad went in to the ring against American Top Team’s Jacen Baker. I will be accused of being impartial here, but this was the most brutal fight of the night. Watching from better than the ring side seats; these two guys threw legs kicks and bombs at each other for three rounds. Getting into the third you could see both breathing heaving and just using sheer determination & heart to finish the fight. Much respect to both!! It was amazing to watch and probably the best example of that warrior spirit that real fighters have- never quit, never surrender. Jacen got the judges decision on this one and, although disappointed, we expect to see Vlad come in kicking ass and taking names in the future!!
No disrespect to anyone else on the card, I have to check in and make sure I’ve got the right results before I post more. ‘Scuse me while I dip out and come back with the finale!
Train hard, train smart!
